Is your seatbelt buckled? Are you ready for a crazy ride through my dating life?
So my current situation as of today is this....
I'm dating a 28 year old loser! He's an unemployed painter that has nothing to offer. So why am I with him ( Painter boy)? I'm in love with him! How did that even happen? Well, let me give a little history on our dating saga...
We started dating 6 months ago, toward the end of August. He first sent me a message on Myspace. I deleted it, thinking...why would a 28 year old be interested in me? Then he sent another message. So I replied and found out he really was interested in me, a 37 year old. Wow, I was flattered. So we texted and emailed for a while, never talking though. After a couple weeks we met for dinner and we promised the first thing we would do is kiss, so the stress was gone. So I pulled up and he was there in the parking lot. We met and kissed and WOW...did sparks fly! We sat through dinner, hardly able to stop from having sex on the table! Ok...I won't go into detail about the date now...that will be another post.
To keep it short for now, he turned out to be a player and last week he decided he "had to be with just me! So here we are dating now, and he hasn't kept his word at all!
**************************************
Now back to today, so I woke up with no texts from Painter Boy. I finally texted him asking him is he wanted to do something today like go bowling, because I know he likes to bowl. He sent me back and said he couldn't afford to, so I said I would treat. "I'll let you know" was his texting words (because we never talk on the phone) Haven't heard from him since. It is now 12:35am! Don't think he wants to go bowling today...now that today is over!
Meantime, I played a little with my "phone sex buddy" this morning before I decided to roll out of bed! It is sad, we are both seeing someone and we call each other to get off! He lives too far away to enjoy dating, but he would have been a great catch! We are friends and tell each other most everything about our dating dilemma's.
I went to the grocery store and wandered the isles, hoping maybe there would be a cute single guy, but everyone was a couple or had a wedding ring on.
Then, Mr. Valentines Day started texting me. (A mistake I made on Valentine's Day) He is a 32 year old hillbilly living in the city! He is sexy though! He has sex with his long johns on and unbuttons his pants and puts his hand down his pants while he watches TV. He has been pursuing me since Painter Boy and I got back together. I think it is the thought he can't have me that is driving him to me more!
He works hard to convince me he wants to just be friends now. Finally, I gave in and invited him to go bowling. He complained that he had a hangover from last night and wanted to relax. He suggested going to a movie. I laid down the rules that there would be no touching! Ok...he agrees and confirms that I will come over to his house and we can go from there. I refused and told him there was no way in hell I was coming to his house, that we could meet at the theater. Suddenly...his tune changes, oh no...no the movie theater, we were going to watch a movie at his house. I told him he was crazy and there was no chance of me stepping foot in his house! The texts stopped.
Meanwhile, I had been having a texting conversation with "Rocker" from last night. Rocker is a nice guy, who is in a band and a rocker, obviously! He is fun to be around, just not sure how much of a spark was there. Definitely friend material though!
I went to get my nails done and texted my friend, Keith "Happy Birthday". (Yes, Keith and I had dated a few months back and decided we were too much the same and became friends. I haven't seen him since our last date, but we talk quite a bit and he has helped me through some very hard times!) I have recently started wondering if we truly are supposed to be together, but we are building our friendship first? Hummmm...
So Keith and I chat for a bit and he suddenly offers a night of wild, crazy sex with him. I laughed and said, "Your so funny!" He stopped me and said..."I'm not kidding, that is the man in me talking." I was taken back! So I mentioned the idea that maybe we are supposed to be together eventually. His answer surprised me...he didn't deny it at all, but said "I can't answer that, only God can! We will leave it up to God!" Keith isn't a very religious guy but has decided that God will put someone special in his life when it is time. So we ended our conversation with Keith letting me know he only has his kids on Thursday. So I contemplate what to do!
A couple hours later "Hey there, what are you doing babe?" It's Mr. Vday back for more. He assures me that he just wants to be friends, but I told him that if we were going to be friends, we could only hang out in public. That it is natural for people to end up having sex when they are attracted and at a house. He admitted that, yes, he was attracted to me but that I could trust him! We will just say he was a "Valentine's Day mistake" for this reason! I couldn't trust myself around him, he's just too sexy!!!!!
I got a couple nice texts from a Snowboarding Dad that I had a date with last Saturday night. We went snowboarding and had a great time. He has kind of backed off some since the date though...so I have backed off too. He does still text me and call though, almost every day. He had been out of town for the weekend, so he updated me on how the tournaments were for his daughter. We made tentative plans for this coming weekend. I would love to see him again! The first time I met him, my heart almost stopped! He is everything I want and he is adorable! I sure hope something will come of this one!
Well, no contact from Painter Boy at this point!
What a crazy day! To wrap it up...I had conversations with:
Painter Boy
Phone Sex Guy
Rocker
Keith
Mr. Valentine's Day
Snowboarder

Flashback: My first week of singleness
Well, I officially asked for my divorce late in the week and Saturday I got a message on Facebook from a long lost friend from high school....a guy friend. I always secretly had a crush on him but we used to dance to MC Hammer and Pump Up The Jam music and he was dating my friend back then! haha! Ok, I'm dating myself!
Sunday I was down his way so I sent him a text and suggested getting together for lunch. Next thing I know we had been at lunch for 4 hours, laughing and reminiscing. It was great fun to have lunch with someone that would actually talk to me, not watch sports on the closest TV. He suggested I come over for dinner, that he had steaks marinading. I declined his offer and headed home.
Ok....so funny how fate works! I didn't find this out til a month later, that while we were at lunch, my Ex (of 4 days) happened to show up at the same restaurant with one of his co-workers and saw me having lunch with a guy. He assumed I must have been having an affair before I asked for the divorce, which wasn't true!
A week later, High school friend invited me over for dinner and a bonfire. We had a great dinner on his patio and laughed for several hours. We started the bonfire and a couple neighbors came over and visited for a short time. It got late and I ended up spending the night because I had one too many cocktails. He was sweet...offering the guest room or his room, allowing me to chose! Heck... I hadn't slept with anyone else in 18 years! I was scared to death, but how could I pass the opportunity up? Needless to say, it was O.K. but I felt like I had no clue as to what I was doing!
Well, we have spoken since, and he has suggested we go out again but I have not taken him up on his offers. He lives kind of far away, but he is a great guy and has a lot to offer. Maybe I just wasn't that into him? Maybe I was just afraid? Afraid of what? Well, maybe giving up my Saturday night to him when I could be with someone else.
I still revisit this and wonder if I gave up a good fish for the greener grass on the other side of the fence?

So who is this mysterious single woman?
"I'm a confident, sexy, 38year old single white female...
lost in the world of dating. A girl trying to her prince,
night in shining armor"
Ok....so lets be a little more detailed! I'm a 38 year old, single Mom of two teenage girls,
I became single 7 months ago after being married for 18 years. I was 19 when I got married and had only been with a couple guys my first year of college. Sex was a mystery to me and when I met the love of my life my second year of college, I knew he was "The One"! Four months later we got married and I had doubts, but I was going to prove to everyone that our love would last forever! Well, the marriage lasted 18 years, I can't really say how long the love did, but we weren't miserable most of the time, so I guess it was ok.
My children are preteens and understand the concept of dating and I know my oldest one understands what happens between men and women because she has has sex ed for two years now. Needless to say, they are excited for me to date. They want me to be happy and ultimately, I think they are excited to have someone in their life that will spend time with them. It is an adventure for them just a much for me. I just know more details of the adventure!
I began dating the week I asked for my divorce. I was ready to move on because I had done my mourning of the marriage before my Ex even knew it was over.
Please don't judge me for the stories I tell, I am just human and learning how to be single! Some of you have been single your whole life, others for a few years after being married, some may be where I was 7 months ago. Ok...if you are married and reading this...it is ok too! You will be able to sympathize with your single friends more!
I realized I wasn't alone in this crazy world of singleness when I watched "He's Just Not That Into You". They made a movie about my life! OMGosh...There must be more women like me out there! I cried through the whole movie the first time and then went to see it again and was able to see the humor in it the second time. I have told my married friends, "When you watch that movie...just remember, that is my life!" They laugh, because they are comforable in their married lives. Married lives, which could end at anytime and they would be thrown out with the lions too!
So I'm going to try to tell you about my dating mishaps and fun and adventures! Hopefully you will be able to relate and laugh and cry with me!
Ps....pass this site on to all your girlfriends! Spread the word!
Thanks....

Well...where should I start?
Where should I start?
Well, I guess at the beginning...when I first became single!
It all started back 7 months ago, when I decided it was time to move on from my marriage of 18 years...yes, you heard me right...18 years! I was married when I was 19 to my first love, whom I had met 4 months before that.
I was like a lamb being fed to the lions of the single world that I hadn't seen in 18 years! Things have changed with the Internet, cell phones, Myspace, Facebook and online dating! WOW....things were different 18 years ago. You just met someone at the grocery store and fell in love.
Sitting here tonight I was giving advice to a guy that was desperately trying to pursue me and he said "Wow, it sounds like you really know what you are talking about." I realized that, yes...I really did know what I was talking about because I truly took the saying "You must kiss many frogs to find your prince" way too literally!
I realized that I really did have stories to share with other single women out there that would make them laugh and cry and sometimes wonder "What the heck was she thinking!" I have made lots of mistakes and learned much about people, guys and myself most of all!
This blog will be composed of flashbacks and current entries, since I have 7 months of stories to share along with my dating saga which is currently happening.
I am staying anonymous on the blog, due to the stories all being real and Ex's and other factors. I am not a professional writer, just someone who loves to tell stories and love to write freely!
So....Sit back and enjoy the ride with me! Feel free to comment on my posts and stories...share your thoughts and your stories if you would like too.
